One of the first goals is to develop in the very young child a strong and realistic sense of independence and self-reliance. Along with love and a stable environment, this is the child’s greatest need. Being mindful that this may be a significant time of separation from Mom and Dad, the staff is especially careful to give the child a sense of belonging and comfort. Fine and gross motor skills, language skills continue to develop dramatically, and our many varied activities address those needs. The children learn to participate in the life of the class, helping to take care of the environment and to be an active member of the class. They also begin to gain independence in caring for their own needs. We all learn through our senses, and this is especially true of very young children who are at the beginning of taking in and understanding the world around them. PLE and Sensorial activities are the core activities of this group. These are exercises in perception, observation, fine discrimination, and classification that play a major role in helping our children to develop their sense of logic and concentration.

Montessori activities for Pre Nursery group of children include Exercise of Practical Life that not only helps them to perform daily life activities independently but also gain control of movement by using scientifically designed Montessori materials. Sensorial activities allow children to see, touch and feel various physical properties of matter. Arithmetic activities introduce concepts of number, fun of counting and understanding the relationship between number names and quantities. Language activities such as phonics & writing skills are introduced to children through various hands-on processes like, tracing of sand paper letters, use of moveable alphabets. Digital smart class activities develop general awareness of age appropriate concepts of science and environment through class interaction by teacher.

EPL activity is a very common interest of the children of age 3 as they enter the classroom in the first year because EPL activity provides the link from home to school. Along with PLE and sensorial activities , Reading and writing are also vital part of Nursery Class. We teach reading by using a phonetic approach. Montessori material is carefully designed to aid in this process. Each lesson is introduced using apparatus, which appeals to the young child’s interest in tactile experience. As each concept is increasingly understood, the process becomes more abstract until the child has fully absorbed the work. This method has been highly acclaimed and successful in the teaching of reading. As soon as the child commences reading, we begin spelling activities, which reinforce comprehension. Our children are typically introduced to numbers by age 3. Each piece of Montessori apparatus serves a specific function in the step-by-step learning process that is so successful. This provides the understanding of math through a ‘hands-on’ approach to learning. Once the lessons are understood in this concrete manner, lessons become increasingly abstract until the mathematical concepts are fully absorbed by the child. The development of this stage leads to movement toward pencil and paper problems.

The Prep Programme is to prepare children to perform age appropriate academic and extra-curricular activities meeting the requirements of various education board standards such as CBSE/ICSE . Classroom activities start with strengthening patterning skills, colouring work sheets, joining dotted lines etc. for refinement of fine motor skills of writing. It further builds on english conversation and class interaction skills, reading and writing, introduction of cursive hand writing, vocabulary development and formation of simple sentences. New vocabulary can be seen in classified pictures or puzzle maps, like parts of animals and country names .Also we cover general awareness of age appropriate concepts of science and environment through class interaction by teacher. This group performs extensive Montessori activities. Montessori activities include not only refinement of Exercises of Practical Life but also perform various Montessori activities on Arithmetic, Language, Sensorial and Science . In Montessori environment, the children don’t merely learn how to count. Montessori mathematic materials give opportunities for children to see, feel, and manipulate the quantity from zero to even a million.They learn Math in a concrete way through the materials to gain and true understanding of Math concepts. Children understands the hierarchy of the decimal system through the concrete materials.

Meals - Facility of Nutritious Lunch, Evening Snacks / Milk is available for the children staying with us during the extended hours.
