Unable to find a single nursery for her daughter in Aurangabad, Mrs. Insiyyah Rahim decided to take on the responsibility of providing pre-school education to the children of Aurangabad. Mrs. Rahim knew the importance of pre-school education but she also knew it would be a challenge to convince parents who had not yet been introduced to this concept. “I went door to door explaining the importance of pre-school education, trying to convince parents,” recalls Mrs. Rahim. She designed her own teaching aids, combining them with unique play-way methods, music and storytelling. Mrs. Rahim started her teaching career in 1983 with 5 students. Her positive results brought her 40 students the following year and 100 the year after. Today, more than 33 years later, Toddlers Nursery has 5 branches, 1100+ students, 80 teachers and 60 non-teaching staff. Mrs. Rahim is the Director of Toddlers Nursery in Aurangabad and manages three branches (N-3 CIDCO, Jyoti Nagar & Delhi Gate). Her vision encompasses not only children, parents and teachers but the society as a whole. Mrs. Rahim has been awarded ‘The Woman Entrepreneur of Maharashtra’ from WIMA and the ‘National Mahila Excellence Award’ for her continuous contributions to early childhood education. Mrs. Rahim is also the co-founder of Stepping Stones High School in Aurangabad, offering classes I to XII in both Science and Commerce streams. Stepping Stones was the first in Maharashtra to offer e-learning as a part of its CBSE curriculum.
